People often live in a lie. And I’m not talking about deceiving others — that’s merely the starting level. The deepest lie, the one even the most honest among us are prone to, is self-deception. This is the way most people live.
This is natural, as the journey from an unconscious existence to crystal-clear awareness requires discernment — the ability to see the world as it truly is. To achieve this, one must shed the veil of illusion and confront the truth. Yet, many resist letting go of the familiar world they have created for themselves. Sooner or later, however, fatigue sets in, and a thirst for truth begins to awaken.
The Victim Role and Other Games We Are Play
Self-deception can emerge in any area of life. When someone does something solely for money or personal gain, they may deceive themselves into believing they enjoy it, when in fact, it holds no real value for them. The same pattern appears in relationships where adults play out a parent-child dynamic, with one partner remaining emotionally immature. Or when people adopt the role of a victim, complaining about life. Or, conversely, when they play the “rescuer,” constantly trying to help others. In all of these scenarios, people live in a lie, unaware of what is truly unfolding.
Gradually, awareness starts to dawn, and you begin to see not so much the future itself, but rather the tendencies and games that others, as well as you, are playing. You begin to understand where these patterns will lead.
Eventually, you come to realize that everything always unfolds exactly as you truly desire. With this awareness, you see the game you’ve been playing, and you start to laugh, realizing that the absurd reality you constructed was your own doing all along. It wasn’t others or some higher power to blame — it was you, unwittingly choosing to lie to yourself and live this way.
Why do people live in a lie?
We choose to play this game called “life,” opting for roles like the victim or the rescuer because they provide specific payoffs — a sense of significance, or the attention of others. No being on Earth ever does anything that it doesn’t, on some level, truly want to do. Even death is not accidental.
Our desires, whether conscious or unconscious, are always fulfilled. On this Earth, some live in a hell of their own making, while others create a personal heaven. The ability to perceive this heaven enables us to foresee and influence what happens. However, reaching that level requires deep awareness.
Our blog is dedicated to developing this awareness. We aim to help you see the cause-and-effect relationships in your life and empower you to become not a victim of circumstances but the creator of your own reality. Living in self-deception might feel comfortable, but it ultimately robs us of real happiness. Choosing to live consciously requires courage, but it offers true freedom by allowing us to see the world without illusions. The path to truth begins when we decide to give up self-deception and are ready to confront reality head-on, leaving behind the lie to yourself that kept you trapped.
